I recently made a low end graphics config file for my old HP Pavilion DV6 laptop. This thing struggled to run Crysis on Medium, but I set out with a goal to make it as pretty as possible while still maintaining 20 - 30 FPS throughout.Below are 3 videos of the config - the first being played on the laptop it was made for along side Natural Mod, and the other two of the same, unaltered config running on a modern desktop with an i7-6700 and a GTX 1080ti (one with Vanilla Crysis, and the other with Natural Mod 2.02 installed.)And below the videos, is the Autoexec.cfg itself. Just create the file, paste the text, drag and drop it into your Crysis root directory, and it should automatically load at startup.
I'm interested to hear what people think about this. Also, my apologies, but I am posting this from mobile.
I got Crysis when it first came out. I also had a crappy computer that couldn't handle the game above medium settings, and that's when I discovered custom configs.Over the years, I found a couple amazing ones that achieved the looks of 'High' settings but with drastically higher frame rates than what the laptop could pump out on the official High settings. Now, I'm setting up the old laptop for someone who needs one, and I'm including Crysis as a gift.Does anyone have the know-how to create one of these miracle configs I've once found? Or at least a link to Mothman's 'Medium Improvement Mod' that was lost to time?I just want to give this old junker out with a bang.Specs:HP Pavilion DV6 notebookScreen Resolution: 1366x768AMD A8-3520 w/ Radeon HD 6620g graphics (512mb)6gb DDR3 RAM1tb SanDisk Ultra SSD.
